Equity and learning: the gender dimension (FAWE)

The main strategies advocated in this paper are policy reforms that address a cross-section of the given factors. Such strategies are like waiving off school fees; involvement of the local communities in problem identification, planning for and implementing strategies and also policy review. Table 3 summarises some strategies that have been practiced in different countries. Results in each country have depended on several things, including policy orientation and the way the intervention was planned, implemented.
